Erin Watt "Miss Erin"
Owner, Teacher: All Programs erin@themusicplayhouseofchicago.com After completing her Master of Music degree here in Chicago, Erin ventured out to New York City where she performed in operas, concerts, short films, cabarets, and a web series. Ms. Erin also taught afterschool music classes and private voice and piano lessons to students of all ages while producing and directing recitals and showcases. She quickly discovered that children are the best audience, and music education was her true calling. After returning to Chicago in 2014, Erin fell in love with the kids and the curriculum at The Music Playhouse and acquired the business in 2015. She now lives in Lakeview with her husband, and 5 year old son, Harrison. |
Jaime Raglow "Miss Jaime"
Teacher: All Programs Jaime hails from Akron, Ohio where she has been singing since she learned how to talk! From showchoir to musicals to dance classes, she has always been a performer with music in her heart! Since moving to Chicago, she has graduated with a BA in Theatre and Dance from Loyola University Chicago, and she has performed in many musicals, choreographed for some children's theatre and camps, and worked with kids all over the city! Miss Jaime feels so deeply about The Music Playhouse's mission and goals of bringing music education to kids from a young age so they can carry that with them their whole lives! |
Caeli Wu "Miss Caeli"
Teacher: The Music Class® Caeli was raised in St. Charles, IL where she began her journey performing in community theatre and high school productions. She moved to the city to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Caeli is a theatre artist who wears many hats from actor, to casting assistant, and assistant director. She has a deep passion for singing and cultivating safe spaces for all. Since working as a teacher at Harmony Learning Center in Lincoln Park, she's been able to enhance and expand her experience teaching early childhood to elementary aged children. Caeli is excited to have found a space where she can combine art and education at The Music Playhouse of Chicago! |
KerryAnn McKenna "Miss KerryAnn"
Teacher: The Music Class® KerryAnn is a theatre artist from Philadelphia, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre at the University of the Arts! She recently moved to Chicago this past August to pursue her Graduate degree in Couples and Family Therapy at Adler University. She hopes to use her creativity, love of music, and new knowledge of interpersonal dynamics to help serve the whole family-- from toddlers to adults! While in Philly, KerryAnn worked as a teacher in a "play" school, where learning was done through movement, storytelling, and of course music! She believes this is such a great way for children to express themselves and connect with those around them. KerryAnn is so grateful to be teaching with The Music Playhouse of Chicago and continuing to bring education and song to children in her community! She can't wait to sing and dance with you in class! |
Juliet Hollifield "Miss Juliet"
Teacher: The Music Class® A recent Chicago transplant, lyric coloratura soprano Juliet was born in the small town of Dillon, Montana, and was raised on a cattle ranch before moving to Washington state to pursue higher education. A lifelong musician, Juliet has been playing the flute since the age of five, and has played piccolo, piano, and bass guitar on her journey into classical voice and musical theater performance, as well as studying and performing multiple genres of dance. Before moving to Chicago, Juliet has performed professionally in many operas and musicals. Juliet is thrilled to bring her love of music and movement into the classroom with The Music Playhouse of Chicago! Juliet holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Central Washington University. |
Olivia Leone "Miss Olivia"
Teacher: The Music Class® Olivia is an artistic activist raised and trained in Chicago. She is a distinguished Merit School of Music Alumna of the Alice S. Pfaelzer Opera Musical Theater Conservatory program and a proud graduate of The DePaul University School of Music. Olivia has extensive experience in vocal performance and fine arts management, and arts education. Notable work includes The Harris Theater with the Chicago Opera Theater as an AGMA member of their chorus in Szymanowski’s ‘Król Roger.,’ the Lira Ensemble, and a mentorship at the Goodman Theatre. Olivia is thrilled to share her passion for play through music and is excited to contribute to The Music Playhouse of Chicago’s mission in early childhood education! |
