Erin Watt "Miss Erin"
Owner, Teacher - All Programs [email protected] Erin was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. She holds a BA in Theater & Media, an MM in music, and is currently pursuing an MM in music therapy. Erin has been teaching private voice and piano lessons and after school music classes for over 17 years. After a few years performing opera and acting in New York City, Erin came back to Chicago and acquired The Music Playhouse in 2015. Outside of teaching, Erin still enjoys acting on occasion, bike rides, and reading. She now lives in Lakeview with her husband, and 7 year old son, Harrison. |
Jaime Raglow "Miss Jaime"
Teacher - The Music Class®, The Learning Groove™ Jaime hails from Akron, Ohio where she has been singing since she learned how to talk! From showchoir to musicals to dance classes, she has always been a performer with music in her heart! Since moving to Chicago, she has graduated with a BA in Theatre and Dance from Loyola University Chicago, and she has performed in many musicals, choreographed for some children's theatre and camps, and worked with kids all over the city! Miss Jaime feels so deeply about The Music Playhouse's mission and goals of bringing music education to kids from a young age so they can carry that with them their whole lives! |
Caeli Wu "Miss Caeli"
Teacher - The Music Class® Caeli was raised in St. Charles, IL where she began her journey performing in community theatre and high school productions. She moved to the city to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Caeli is a theatre artist who wears many hats from actor, to casting assistant, and assistant director. She has a deep passion for singing and cultivating safe spaces for all. Since working as a teacher at Harmony Learning Center in Lincoln Park, she's been able to enhance and expand her experience teaching early childhood to elementary aged children. Caeli is excited to have found a space where she can combine art and education at The Music Playhouse of Chicago! |
Olivia Leone "Miss Olivia"
Teacher - The Music Class®, The Learning Groove™ Olivia is an artistic activist raised and trained in Chicago. She is a distinguished Merit School of Music Alumna of the Alice S. Pfaelzer Opera Musical Theater Conservatory program and a proud graduate of The DePaul University School of Music. Olivia has extensive experience in vocal performance and fine arts management, and arts education. Notable work includes The Harris Theater with the Chicago Opera Theater as an AGMA member of their chorus in Szymanowski’s ‘Król Roger.,’ the Lira Ensemble, and a mentorship at the Goodman Theatre. Olivia is thrilled to share her passion for play through music and is excited to contribute to The Music Playhouse of Chicago’s mission in early childhood education! |
Caro Granner "Miss Caro" (she/they)
Teacher - The Music Class® Caro (she/they) is a musician and education worker from Evanston, IL. A lifelong singer-songwriter, she records and performs original indie folk music and sings with the Songs for Liberation music collective. A graduate of the Theatre Arts department at Lawrence University, Caro has previously worked with the Old Town School of Folk Music, Girls Rock! Chicago, The Lullaby Project, Bach to Rock, and the Youth Empowerment Performance Project. After some time away from the classroom, they are thrilled to return to making music with little ones! Caro is passionate about play, improvisation, and creating respectful, joyful spaces for children to live and learn. When she’s not teaching, you can find her behind the front desk at The People’s Music School or around a table playing Dungeons and Dragons with her friends. |
Nour Yamanita "Mx. Nour" (they/he)
Teacher - The Learning Groove™ After successfully begging their parents for a guitar for Christmas, Nour began playing guitar and taking lessons at School of Rock at the age of 14. As soon as Nour began to learn to play chords, they began writing songs of their own. At SUNY Oneonta, Nour earned a BA in Music Industry and BS in Business Economics. Nour’s band, It Keeps Snowing, went on to perform at O-Fest and at various venues around New York and the tri-state area. They released their EP Everything You Want Me To Be in 2018. Since moving to Chicago, Nour has started a new project, Nourmal Dynamics, and has been performing around Chicago. Recently, Nourmal Dynamics was the runner-up in the Winter 2023 Uncommon Ground Open Mic Competition. |
Anna White "Miss Anna"
Teacher - The Learning Groove™, Music Discovery, Adventures in Ukulele Anna was raised in Seattle, WA but moved to the Midwest to attend Northwestern University as part of the Medill School of Journalism class of 2019. Anna is a performing and touring musician (her primary instrument is the bass!), as well as a music writer and illustrator. Anna's love of music started at a young age when she began taking violin lessons at the age of 4, and she is excited to share her passion with young students and help foster a life-long love of the arts! |
Mary Paige "Miss Mary Paige or Miss M.P."
Teacher - The Learning Groove™, Music Discovery, Adventures in Ukulele Mary Paige (MP) holds a BFA in theatre performance from The University of Michigan-Flint. Professionally she has enjoyed working for Flint Repertory Theatre in several musicals and new works and spent some time in Ohio after graduating touring with Columbus Children’s Theatre bringing live theatre to thousands of students. Before making the move to Chicago she was teaching creative play and musical theatre with The Flint Institute of Music. When she’s not belting out her favorite show-tunes you can find her singing little songs to her cat or hiking somewhere amongst the trees. |
Gracie Wallace "Miss Gracie"
Teacher - The Learning Groove™, Music Discovery Gracie Wallace is an actor, musician, and teaching artist originally from Florida. She received her B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from the University of West Florida. After college, she spent four years in Atlanta where she trained, performed professionally, and directed children's theatre with the Atlanta Shakespeare Company. She is passionate about sharing her love for music and providing safe artistic spaces for self expression and discovery. She is so excited to be teaching with the Music Playhouse of Chicago! |
