How does registration work? You may register for a Full 10-Week Semester, or a Drop-in. Full Session registration includes digital music downloads of the music we do in class! Pre-registration online is always required.
What is the cost? For The Music Class®, a full 10-week semester is $250 (or $25/class) for the 1st child, and $200 (or $20/class) for siblings, and include digital music downloads. Drop-ins are $28 per class for the 1st child, and 20% off for siblings. Mini-Sessions and programs for Big Kids may vary in cost depending on length and content.
Where is your Parent/Child curriculum from? The Music Playhouse of Chicago enjoys exclusive regional use of the award-winning The Music Class® curriculum from The Music Class, Inc. This research-based music education curriculum features a wide variety of sounds and styles including classical, world music, jazz, blues, rock, folk, and catchy original songs designed to teach kids about musical concepts while having a ton of fun!
Where is your Preschool & Daycare curriculum from? We are proudly certified with The Learning Groove™ by Eric Litwin, the author and songwriter of the first 4 "Pete the Cat" books! Mr. Eric's program is research-based and features a wide variety of sounds and styles and is designed to teach musical concepts as well as enhance language development, social skills, and fine and gross motor development.
What is your Cancellation and Makeup Policy? Any class may be rescheduled for any reason with 24 hours notice. Simply contact customer service (email [email protected] or text 773-572-8054) and provide your email address on file, your child's name, and the class date and time you will be missing. Makeups cannot be issued for missed classes without advanced notice of the absence. Missed classes must be rescheduled within the same semester.
What do I do if the time and day I registered for no longer works for my schedule? You can always transfer to another class within the same session with no fee, as long as there is space available. Just contact customer service!
My child is not walking yet, and I would love to be in a class with other babies. We are committed to finding a class that is the best fit for you and your child! The Music Class® is a mixed age class for ages 0-5. Research shows that there are several developmental benefits to mixed age classes! That being said, we do appreciate the desire to be in a class of peers. Feel free to contact the office and we can tell you which classes have other kids your child's age. We will find a class that is a good fit! In the meantime, we do have a few babies only classes occasionally on offer. Contact us to find out when!
My older child has a day off of school. Can he/she come to class with my younger child? Absolutely! Your older child is welcome to attend as a drop-in as long as there is space available. Pre-registration online is required, or contact customer service to register. The Sibling Discount will apply.
I would like to try a class before I register. Free Trial Classes are available in select classes. Take a look at our current Class Schedule and pick the date and time that works best for you, and select "Free Trial" when you register. Otherwise, drop-ins are available in all of our classes. Pre-registration online is required.
What is your Refund Policy? Sales are final. You may request a Special Circumstances Request Form for special circumstances. ALL approved refunds are subject to a 20% fee. Any classes or events may be rescheduled with 24 hours notice with no fee. Credits may be issued on a case by case basis. Missed classes cannot be rescheduled, credited, or refunded without advanced notice of absence.
Do you offer music enrichment for Preschools & Daycares? We sure do! We LOVE our preschool and daycare programs! We offer weekly, biweekly, monthly, or one-time special event (Field Trips) music education programs for Infants-5th Grade. Let us know what you're looking for, and we'll put together a proposal for you!
