All of our programs strive to present musical concepts in a fun and relatable way that will be inspiring and memorable for kids of all ages. We use play-based and research-based techniques, gamification, and hands-on, interactive activities that keep students engaged and excited to learn. Our primary goal is to instill a lifelong love and understanding of music through variety, repetition, and fun, and this is the running theme through all of our programs!

The Music Class®
A Music Education Class for Early Childhood
Mixed Ages 0-5
"Step One" in your child's music education! High energy and interactive songs and activities are designed and modified to benefit all ages. Music and methods are inspired by research in early child development and offer a wide variety of styles, eras, regions, modes, and rhythms to maximize musical potential. Mixed age classes offer developmental benefits and allow siblings to take class together! This class features music and curriculum by The Music Class, Inc. Class is 45 minutes in length.
Registration Options: Full Sessions, Drop-ins, Private In-Home classes, and Free Trials available in select classes.

Learn how to interact musically with your baby and activate the senses using music! In this class, the teacher will guide you through age appropriate musical and sensory games and activities that you can continue to do at home with your baby. We provide a relaxed environment designed for small babies and their parents or caregivers. Research shows that exposure to a variety of sounds and rhythms in the first few months of life creates the strongest foundation for developing communication skills and musical aptitude as they grow. Research also shows that singing to and dancing with your baby enriches emotional and social development! Baby blankets, bottles, and nursing are welcome :)

Music Discovery: Discover Instruments!
Big Kids: Ages 3-8
Discover piano, drumming, and ukulele! "Step Two" in your child's music education and appreciation! Activities are deeply rooted in music theory and designed to help children develop critical listening skills and prepare children for instrument lessons and formal music instruction, while having a ton of fun in the process! Discover melody, rhythm, and harmony through advanced activities and games developed and used exclusively by The Music Playhouse. This class features singing, dancing, drumming, ukulele, and piano. Class is 45 minutes in length.
Ages 3-5 is a parent/child class and NOT a drop-off class. Caregivers are required to stay and participate or observe.
Ages 5-8 is a drop-off class. Caregivers are welcome to stay and observe, but it is not required.

This class features classical music by historic and famous composers, and introduces students to the elements of music including melody, rhythm, dynamics, tempo, timbre, harmony, expression and creativity, etc. Students learn music literacy and music history through physical movement activities, listening activities, games, singing, dancing, rhythm instruments, storytime, and art. This class features curriculum developed and used exclusively by The Music Playhouse of Chicago.

Learn how to play the ukulele! Ukulele is a developmentally appropriate and fun instrument for young children that allows them to explore harmony, songwriting, performing, and leading sing-a-longs. Students will learn three to four basic chords that will allow them to play hundreds of popular songs anywhere, any time. The teacher will provide ukuleles for in-class instruction. Available for up to 10 students. Schools may opt to purchase their own ukuleles to use in class or rent to students. We are happy to make recommendations!
