As you have likely heard by now, the shelter-at-home order has been extended through the end of May. The good news is, we are here for you! We will continue offering virtual music classes and special events all the way through this pandemic. We believe in the joy and healing power of music, and we have made it our mission to continue sharing it with you.
Even after it is considered safe to reopen for in-person classes, we will continue offering online classes in addition to in-person classes for those who feel more comfortable saying at home and for those outside of our area. The current plan is to continue offering virtual music classes up to, and possibly beyond September. Please keep in mind this is an ever changing and evolving situation, and this is all subject to change, but we will do our best to deliver consistent high quality music education in whichever medium we can! We are committed to keeping our classes affordable and accessible to families looking for fun, silly, active, and educational activities to enjoy together as a family. Please help us uphold our mission by spreading the word about our classes and inviting friends to join! Brand new families can enjoy a free trial using code *freetrialvmc4* at checkout. See you next time in music class! -Erin :) On Friday, April 17th, Governor Pritzker announced that schools will not reopen this school year. Though this did not come as a surprise, hearing the reality of that news is disappointing to many. We understand the importance of staying safe at home and also understand the importance of routine, normalcy, and staying active and mentally stimulated. The Music Playhouse studio will remain closed to the public at least until June 1st, and continue offering virtual music classes and special events to families with children ages 0-6.
Once shelter in place is lifted and it is considered safe for businesses like ours to reopen, it will likely be for very small class sizes. Therefore, we will continue to offer online classes at least until the Fall (and likely beyond) for those who wish to continue practicing safe social distancing. Thank you again for all of support that you've shown us, we truly wouldn't be here without you. Keep singing, keep dancing, keep listening to music at home as a family, wash your hands, and we'll see you next time in virtual music class ;) We were on the news! Thank you to Fox 32 Chicago for inviting me to speak on the show! Dearest Music Class Families,
From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you for your incredible support these last two weeks. Thank you for your patience as we redesign our entire class structure to bring our classes online. Thank you for sticking with us through the glitches and helping us work out the kinks. Thank you for engaging with us on social media, writing reviews, and sharing our content with friends and family. Thank you for sending us pictures and videos of your kiddos enjoying our virtual classes. Thank you for the generous donations that allow us to continue bringing the joy and healing power of music into your homes. We are overcome with joy by the level of support and encouragement we have received from you, and we are so grateful! We feel energized and motivated to keep moving forward, and keep the music going! We couldn't do this without you. Thank you, The Music Playhouse Teachers :) PS: We just posted the new schedule for this week, and we'll be announcing new activities and plans soon! Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for updates :) See you again soon in virtual music class! At the advisement of the CDC and the CDPH, and alongside Governor Pritzker's order to close CPS, we are temporarily suspending our Spring Session for two weeks. We will be closed and there will be no classes from Monday, March 16th to Saturday, March 28th.
We hope to reopen on Monday, March 30th, but of course this is a developing and rapidly changing situation, so we will continue to closely monitor the messages coming from the CDC and our local authorities and keep you updated. We will do our best to make sure that registered students receive their remaining 9 weeks of the Spring Session. The current plan is to extend the Spring Session to Saturday, May 30th. Once we reopen, we will extend our makeup policy to unlimited makeups to help our families get the most out of music class. We will reevaluate as necessary as news develops. Thank you for your patience as we navigate these strange and challenging times. Please believe us when we say we truly wish we come to class to sing and dance with you, but at this point, closing is the responsible thing to do. In the meantime, we strongly encourage families to continue their child's music education at home by singing, dancing, listening to the music, and interacting musically together as a family on a daily basis. Music is never cancelled! We will begin offering virtual classes starting soon, so please be on the lookout for that! Please follow us on Instagram and Facebook for updates and tips on how to bring music class home. We love you all, and we will miss you terribly. Please visit us online, and as always, be kind to one another. Thank you, Miss Erin, Miss Crystal, Miss Kat, Miss Jaime, Mr. Steve, and Mr. Cole :) |
