Mary-Margaret Roberts "Miss M&M"
Teacher, Wednesday and Thursday mornings, Customer Service
Mary-Margaret Roberts hails all the way from Raleigh, North Carolina, and has been singing ever since she can remember! "Miss M&M" moved to Chicago after graduating from Western Illinois University with an MFA in Acting. In addition to work as a nanny, Miss MM has been on the Emerald City Stage in the Three Little Pigs musical and as Snow White with Chicago Kids Company. Miss M&M has also spent many summers as a children's musical camp counselor and has toured with several children's musicals. She feels fortunate to share her love of music with children because the arts have made such a powerful impact on her own life! Miss M&M is ecstatic to be apart of The Music Playhouse team and is looking forward to making memories with your child through the beautiful world of music!
Crystal DeMey "Miss Crystal"
Crystal is thrilled to be joining The Music Playhouse team! She grew up in a very musical family, her grandfather was a well known Calypsonian artist from the Caribbean island of Grenada and her father is a singer and has been managing reggae artists since she was born. Crystal has been playing the piano since the age of 5 and has also been in a few NYC Off-Broadway productions such as Songs of the New World and Hair. She ran the music and theater program for her local YMCA summer camps for 3 years. She is so happy she gets to share her passion for music with children again! Crystal has her B.A. in Theater Arts from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC. She now resides in the Lakeview neighborhood in Chicago with her 2 year old daughter, Aaliyah and husband. Crystal is currently on maternity leave and will return Spring Session 2018!
Erin Watt "Miss Erin"
Teacher, Center Director
After four amazing years performing and working in New York City, Erin is back in her hometown of Chicago! While in NYC, Erin performed in operas, concerts, short films, cabarets, and a web series. In addition, Erin taught afterschool music classes and private voice and piano lessons to students of all ages while producing and directing recitals and showcases. She will always treasure her time on the east coast bringing the joy and power of music to children, and is very excited continue here at The Music Playhouse! Ms. Erin has a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance, and a BA in Theater. She now lives in Lakeview with her husband. Erin is currently on maternity leave and will return Spring Session 2018!
Emma Schreibman "Miss Emma"
Teacher, Monday and Tuesday mornings
Emma Schreibman originally found her love of music and theatre at a very young age in Cleveland, Ohio in various regional, summerstock, and community production companies. She moved to Chicago to receive her BFA in Musical Theatre from Roosevelt University at the Chicago College of Performing Arts. Music is her life and she doesn't spend a day without singing. She is a nanny for various families around the city and also performs. Emma is thrilled to combine her love for children and music as a teacher at The Music Playhouse, inspiring young minds to find joy in their own love of music.
Rebecca Roberts "Miss Becca"
Rebecca Roberts grew up in a musical family, playing piano at an early age. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and majored in Music Performance at Marian College and has enjoyed working with children for several years. Rebecca plays the piano, guitar, percussion, violin, and is a vocalist. Rebecca spent her high school and college years performing in various musicals and plays, such as West Side Story, If Life Were a Musical and a Grand Night for Singing. Rebecca also works as a songwriter/musician, performing around the city. Rebecca and her husband have 2 young boys and a dog and recently moved from Indianapolis to Chicago. Miss Becca has moved on to pursue her Master's degree! We will miss you!
Jaime Raglow "Miss Jaime"
Teacher, Friday mornings, Advanced Music Class
Jaime moved to Chicago from Akron, Ohio in 2011 to study Theatre and Dance at Loyola University Chicago. Since graduating, Jaime has taught theatre camps, dance classes, and choreographed for Children's Musicals at places like The Raven Theatre, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Light Opera Works, and the like. She can also be seen performing with Matter Dance Company in the summers at Stage 773, and doing various other theatre and dance work in the city. Nannying and babysitting all over Chicago (and Akron), Jaime has worked with kids from newborn through middle school. She is thrilled to be joining The Music Playhouse team!
Katarina Spungen "Miss Kat"
Teacher, Tuesday afternoons, Saturdays
Katarina is ecstatic to join The Music Playhouse as a teacher after falling in love with the program with the kids she nannies! Her mother loves to say that she was singing before she could talk, and consequently grew up studying voice, flute, and piano. She left the suburbs of New York City to study acting at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and graduadated with a BFA. She has been in Chicago ever since. In addition to nannying, Katarina has taught youth acting classes and started a custom dessert business, Pardine Pastries. She is so excited to share her love of music with the new generation of artists!
